Created by David Cotteblanche and Reynald Ricard, the amazing concept and style of Red Market Salon is already being copied by top salons throughout the country.
Red Market offers a unique salon experience unlike any other. The constantly changing environment features rotating art exhibits, music by a line-up of local DJs, and Wi-Fi internet access.
Owners, David and Reynald have been friends since 1992. They met while working for Paris’ most famous stylist, Jacques Dessange. Both David and Reynald went on to open new Jacques Dessange salons around the world. Reynald was off for Casablanca, David for Miami. A year later Reynald joined David in sunny, sexy Miami. In the late 90′s, both David and Reynald made waves in NYC working for Frederic FEKKAI.
David and Reynald were so busy they started taking on clients in the evening at David’s studio apartment. Right away they saw a real market and need for a late night salon.
In September of 2004, they took the opportunity to rent a small studio loft on Little West 12th, in the heart of the growing Meat Packing District. The loft was only 80 square feet, but it generated a lot of attention for the duo, and not long after, they realized their dream when Red Market Salon opened its current location at 32 Gansevoort Street on June 21, 2005.
